ISC TV Archives Now Available For On-Demand Viewing

A trenching operation cut through a critical AT&T T-1 Feeder Cable in Kimberly last week, which severely hampered ISC TV's access to the appropriate bandwidth required for streaming live video from the Sunset Park Press Box. During the first 5 days of the ISC World Tournament, the live streamingwas very problematic. It was very frustrating that the problem, and the solution, were completely out of the control of our ISC TV operation. The feeder cable was repaired sometime on Friday Aug 15, and the final two days of ISCTV live streaming, went quite smoothly. Viewers who weren't already alienated, enjoyed those final 6 - 8 games, as the tournament wound downto the Championship Game on Saturday evening.
There are now over 50 hours of the 23 game videos from the ISCTV coverage of the 2008 World Tournament archived on the Spirtsjuice.com / ISCpage. These games are now available for viewing, on demand, for the next year. Witha high speed Internet connection, the games can be viewed throughout the world. Other than an initial 10 seconds of buffering when the game is initially selected, the videos should play without any delays or buffering that plagued the first 5 days of our live broadcasts.

Kimberly: It's Big League
By I.S.C. Graydon's Grumblings

Watching Men's Major Men's Open fastpitch at Sunset Park, one can feel the soul of the game. It's almost like you've died and gone to Heaven. No other city can make that incredible claim. The view, which is surrounded by the Fox River in right field, is breath-taking. It has the essence of ballpark smells. And oh, what an aroma!
It's the sweet smell of success. It's unique. Once they fire up for those cinders for bratwurths, there is no smell other like it. It's the fragrance of Kimberly. Sure, the German people and their ancestry cultivated it. But there nothing more Americana than that smell.
Leave that smell alone. Continue Reading
ASA Tourney has international Flavor
By Kyle Falstad for the Journal
Saturday, August 2, 2008
It's not often that central Wisconsin gets to host a tournament as big as the ASA Men's Fastpitch National Championship.
Not only is Zenoff Park hosting teams from all over the United States this weekend, it is also taking in players from all over the world.
The explanation for the influx of international softball players is partially because softball is more popular than baseball in other parts of the world.
Argentinean born Juan Potolicchio of Denmark Wisconsin's Circle Tap said, "American softball players usually switch from baseball to softball, while we (Argentineans) start playing softball when we are really young."
"Americans play more hardball, so (underhand) pitching is not natural for them," The Bar of Appleton first baseman Gerald Long, originally from New Zealand, said. "But besides for pitchers, there are a lot of great American players." Continue Reading
National Fastpitch Tourney Coming
By Scott Williams for the Journal
Friday, July 25, 2008
There was a time -- remembering back to the 1950s and '60s -- when men's fastpitch was the name of the softball game in central Wisconsin. Those individuals who participated in the Wisconsin Valley Fastpitch League will have a chance to take a trip down "Nostalgia Lane" next weekend. Stevens Point will be home to the 2008 Amateur Softball Association's Men's Major Fastpitch National Championship starting July 31 and running through Aug. 3 at Zenoff Park. Continue Reading
